About GF Savings

Hi, I'm Taylor. I have celiac disease, and I go by Taylor online.

Gluten-free groceries cost more, and the extra cost is a medical expense the IRS recognizes when a doctor documents the diet. Most people never claim it because the paperwork is the problem: you have to find the gluten-free items on every receipt, find a comparable regular product, price it, and file only the difference. I did that by hand for a while and decided a tool should do it.

What the tool does

What it does not do

Honest about the money. The number we show is the cost difference you can reimburse from pre-tax dollars. If your account would otherwise go unused, it is worth the full amount; if not, it is worth the tax you save on it. Real trips have ranged from nothing to about $80, with most around $25. It adds up over a year, and it is money you are entitled to.

How I work

I post in celiac communities as Taylor, answer email personally at [email protected], and read every receipt that people send me for a look. If the tool gets something wrong on your receipt, tell me; every correction goes back into making it better.

Thanks for being here.
