Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Effective September 2026. This policy is separate from our general Privacy Policy and covers health-related information specifically, as required by the Washington My Health My Data Act, Nevada SB 370, and Connecticut's health data provisions. It applies to everyone who uses GF Savings, wherever you live.

In plain language: GF Savings exists to find the extra cost of gluten-free food on your receipts so you can claim it as a medical expense. Doing that means we hold information that says, in effect, "this person follows a medically necessary gluten-free diet." We collect only what the tool needs to do that job for you, we do not sell it or share it for advertising, and you can delete all of it yourself from your dashboard.

1. What consumer health data we collect

CategoryWhat it isWhere it comes from
Receipt images and line itemsThe receipt you upload and the items, prices, store, and date we read from it, including which items we identify as gluten-free and claimable. You, when you upload.
Claim recordsThe claim packets you generate (which items, which amounts) and whether you marked them submitted.Created by the tool from your receipts.
Diet attestationYour confirmation, when you generate a packet, that the items were bought for a medically necessary gluten-free diet for you or a dependent. This is stamped into the PDF with your name and a timestamp. You, by checkbox.
Letter statusWhether you told us you asked your doctor for a Letter of Medical Necessity, and your doctor's surname if you entered it to pre-fill the letter template. You, on the letter setup page.
Benefit profileWhether you plan to use an FSA, HSA, or the tax route; which administrator you named; the month your plan year ends. You, on the dashboard.
CorrectionsEdits you make to what the tool read (for example, marking an item gluten-free or not), used to improve reading accuracy. You, in the review screen.

What we do not collect: your doctor's letter itself (it is merged into your packet in your browser and never sent to our servers), your diagnosis records, your account or card numbers (Stripe handles payment), and any precise location.

2. Why we collect it, and how we use it

We collect this data because it is necessary to provide the service you asked for. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles about you for any other purpose.
